Did you know you can make your own hair mask at home with stuff from your pantry? I’ve been locked down in Melbourne so wanted to share an easy recipe idea.
A hair mask is a treatment that acts as a deep conditioner for your hair and scalp. Basically its something you can do a couple of times a month if you want or just whenever you have time…. A homemade hair mask can be an easy way to care for your hair and do something nice for you at home
Deep Conditioning Mask Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 of an avocado
2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons water
How to Make your Hair Mask.
Mash avocado in a bowl
Add coconut oil, honey, water and apple cider vinegar and mix all ingredients until well combined.
Putting on your hair mask
Run some water through your hair to make it damp.
Using your fingertips, apply the mask to your damp hair. Starting at the top of your head and gently work the mixture down to the ends
Leave the Mask in and go put your feet up
Once you’ve got the mask on, cover your hair with a waterproof shower cap. This will allow the mask to be insulated underneath the cap to make it more effective. Leave this mask on for about 30 minutes. That’s just enough time to go take a relaxing bath, read a magazine and have a cuppa or watch a netflix episode.
Taking off the hair mask
After the 30 minutes is up just remove your shower cap and rinse your hair well. Use your regular shampoo and conditioner to wash your hair. Your hair should feel silky soft to touch. If you are using a machine washable shower cap you can throw it in the wash for easy cleaning.
