Mat is Waterproof on the top printed side and has a smooth matte finish.
Underside of splash mat is soft organic cotton. Can be used under the highchair, kids table or wherever mess happens. Also useful over tables as a waterproof tablecloth for arts and crafts.
Will take repeated machine washings (cool cycle) or wipe clean with a damp cloth
